Egg based flu vaccines. A thorny issue

Egg-based flu vaccines.
A very thorny issue. The production of these vaccines undoubtedly involves animal rights violations.

[ID: racks with thousands of eggs on trays on each side. Title across screen: How do eggs protect us from flu?]

Even if you are healthy and think you can do without the vaccine, getting vaccinated helps contain the spread of the disease (herd immunity) and protects immunocompressed persons.
Getting vaccinated is important.

➡️➡️ Meanwhile, is necessary to support the search for animal free alternatives.

See video from BBC about a facility producing flu vaccines with the use of eggs:

  1. Exactly!!! To the extent possible and practicable, we avoid using animals. But we live in a non-vegan world and for some things there is no choice. This is why more and more vegans is so important. As our numbers increase, we will push the agenda forward of finding suitable alternatives.
