@Vegan restaurants: please be inclusive and make your spaces as accessible as possible for everyone. 💚
Most vegan (friendly) restaurants I have visited over the years are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. 😔
When I write a restaurant review*, I don’t only talk about the food, but also take the accessibility into consideration.
➡️ Is there a step free entrance?
➡️Is there space to manoeuvre inside the restaurant?
➡️Toilets on ground floor? is there an accessible toilet?
➡️Comfort of seatings? Are the seatings/tables on sitting level or barstool level?
Note:
I am mainly focusing on mobility accessibility here, as I have mobility issues and am an ambulatory wheelchair user myself. There are other aspects to consider to make a restaurant more accessible for people with other disabilities (accessible menus for blind people, acoustical aspects, etc).
* I have written hundreds of restaurant reviews on my blog The Bruges Vegan and am also an ambassador for HappyCow Vegan Guide & Community
