Don’t judge. Not all wheelchair users are paralysed

I’ve been sporadically using a wheelchair since a couple of years.

Because of Ankylosing Spondylitis (a type of arthritis), I cannot stand up for long periods of time or walk long distances.

I also use the wheelchair for events like festivals, fairs, or a concert or museum visit, because otherwise I cannot stay for hours or get through the day. Too much pain, no energy, exhausted.

Some people judgingly look at me when I suddenly do stand up, or when on other occasions they see me walking or biking.

➡➡ No people, not everyone who uses a wheelchair is paralysed. Some wheelchair users only use the wheelchair on bad days or for events that require a big effort, or for special occasions.
Some wheelchair users can stand, walk, bike

➡➡ Not all disabilities or diseases are visible. Don’t judge people for this or accuse them of fraude, when sometimes they do use a wheelchair, and on other occasions they don’t.
