‘like they now condemn racism and sexism’. Except many don’t.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts about this.

I often see this quote in the animal rights community

“One day, people will condemn speciesism, like they now condemn racism and sexism”.

I think this is problematic because it downplays the existence of contemporary racism and sexism. These are currrently far from universally condemned and VERY much present in society.
