General Speciesism Videos

Injured footballer shot dead

This is a new campaign film from League against Cruel Sports.

The video shows a football match. During play, one player hits another, he falls, and is carried by two persons of the field to the locker rooms, not putting weight on his leg.
As he is lying on a bench in the locker room, a trainer examines his leg. The trainer reaches to a sports bag and takes out a hand gun and points it to the footballer.
The video turns black, as a shot sounds.

The following text appears on screen:

You wouldn’t support football if injured players were executed.
So why support horse racing?
Over 150 injured horses are killed in Britain every year.

Even if horses would not be shot after an injury, horce racing is wrong and violates the horses’ rights.

I understand the ‘shock’ effect this video is trying to create. And trying to make people realise the double standards and speciesist nature of killing horses after getting injured. But it does not addres the speciesist nature of horse racing as such. Even if horses would not be shot after an injury, horce racing is wrong and violates the horses’ rights.
